10 out of 10 for story

User Rating: 8 | Silent Hill: Homecoming X360
For me, Silent Hill Homecoming gets an 8 out of 10 mostly because of the story. You start off thinking one thing about your character and slowly the truth unfolds and keeps you wanting to learn more and more as you progress. The storyline could easily be used for a good novel or a movie. It is a lot more complex than the typical fare of bad guy trying to make it good in a bad world, or redemption for a slain family member. Sometimes the action gets in the way of trying to find out what happened to the protagonist.

The graphics, like most Silent Hill movies are great. There are some weak points in the facial details, but on the whole you won't be disappointed.

The camera angles can frustrate, especially when you are fighting a boss in a confined area, and you can't see your character or the boss because of the camera angle.

Bosses. I am not a fan of boss fights in general. I don't like to spend 45 minutes, and multiple tries just to fight one AI. I would rather not have bosses at all. The bosses in this game however are not too hard to kill, but you still could spend half an hour trying to defeat one.

Saves: The saves are the usual Silent Hill type - find a sign on a wall somewhere to save your game. Sometimes they are frequent, sometimes you have to play longer than you want to, just because you are trying to get to a save point.

The locales aren't as varied as say, Silent Hill 3. You get a cemetery, hospitals, hotel, factory, and of course streets of Silent Hill and Shephard.

I bought this used for around $10, and it was well worth the money. I have played most Silent Hill games, and I would say that it is either 1 or 2 in my favourite in the series.
