Silent Hill Origins will mostly only appeal to SH fanboys sweating for SH 5.
Definitely no innovation in this game. The story begins the same way as usual (drive,fog,sign,road), the grapihics capture tension and gore perfectly, the story is strange , and the combat is possible to adjust to but slow and blah. But so what?
I love the Silent Hill series and they have never been able to improve the agility of the protagonist. The controls were always busted, but i adjusted and beat all of them and had a blast (F*$kin SH4). I know things will get more interesting as the new war vet character in part 5, but for now why not get a brand new adventure that is pure oldschool SH and enjoy it. Theres nothing wrong with that.
The sound and shadow effects in this game are wonderful too. Mostly everything casts a dynamic shadow. I feel like i'm playing SH Chronicles or something with this game. Take all the enjoyable things from the other games n make them in 2007. Naturally smoother framerate and a uniquness all its own. Many unlockables add to replay value.
Don't hate on this game. If you want a new awesome game ide get this but only, and i mean ONLY, if youve beaten a least 2 of the others and had fun. Most likely anyone else won'tcare long enough or relaizethe references that make me enjoy it more.
