Simply the best horror game out there.
SH will simply splatter your brain on the wall..that's how it is. In this game it isn't about gore..it is about disturbing your mind enough to make you fear the game itself. Of course, once you've played it through a few times you learn not to get scared too much and get to the end pretty quickly, but the multiple endings and the secret endings makes it up for a good replay value although for me, Silent Hill NEVER gets hold and I still freak out by times. The Graphics were pretty good back then, you could easily be scared of most monsters and with the amazing sound and screeching and all that dark, creepy music literally draws you in. The main story is interesting and keeps you wanting to know more to only figure out it is an amazing story. The game also uses alot of good camera angles to add to the disturbance. Playing the game itself isn't really hard. It is easy to get sued to the controls and I haven't yet had any complaint myself to do about it.
So there is alot we could say about Silent Hill, but knowing too much would ruin it for anybody who haven't played it. All I'll say: you wait at night when the entire place is empty..you sit back in the dark with nothing but a control in your hands..and pop the game in and embark yourself in a city you'll never get out of sane.
Alive maybe...but not sane.
Best horror based game ever created. Those who don't agree...then too bad, that's my opinion.
