Boycott Ubisoft for killing Silent Hunter, IL-2, and Ghost Rec. They habitually make good titles, then market the name.
Second off, I will never purchase a game made by Ubisoft again. Whatever happened to beta testing a game and ironing out the crippling patches? Call of Duty proved you didn't have to do that, and that people will buy based on name, instead of researching the miniscule amount of work put in compared to previous installments.
They ruined Ghost Recon by shifting into Advanced Warfighter during next gen, and proved conventional warfare sells less because it lacks flash, regardless of horrible gameplay. IL-2 died because, lets be honest, if you liked Birds of Prey.... you never played Strumovik, or hated Strumovik because you need good graphics to even comprehend the gamplay. And finally they killed Silent Hunter by releasing this piece of utter and abysmal crap, charging 49.99 for it, and forgetting to mention that internet connection is required on the boxes of previous copies.
Honestly Ubisoft deserves a class action lawsuit. So many good companies go bankrupt and Ubisoft dumps pile after pile of steaming **** onto our computers.
Oh I forgot they ruined Rainbow Six aswell. Look at every 2000-2004 Ubi game. The only words to describe them are "Awesome and innovative." Then oneday somebody at Ubisoft must of had a siezure and decided that more focus needs to be put into graphics and flash(Which were horrible for their time anyway, think vegas compared to COD 2 campaign... Yeah now you relize how lazy they are getting)
Ubisoft continually relies on flash and marketing based on older titles that will, in my opinion, live forever in video game history. Ubisoft I will never forget the skies of IL-2....
I will never forget the friends made in the Ghost Recon series. Honestly I am tearing up a bit remembering all the wonderfull people I met on the computer GR games, and on the xbox Ghost Recon 2. Awesome gameplay, and awesome community, awesome clan matchmaking and leaderboards. Honestly, serious legit tears :D
And I will never forget the wonderfull online matches on the early Rainbows on the computer. Same as Recon, great community, many friends met and parted.
But I will never forgive Ubisoft for how bad they betrayed their fans. I can only look at the past half decade of video gaming all together, with shocking dis-belief, and nauseating frustration. I mean seriously I used to love the direction video gaming was taking bot console and pc before next gen.... Now it is all about flash, mass appeal, point and click, getting up on the leaderboards, and earning achievements.
Thank the lord for good companies that stay true like Valve, Bethesda, and many more. But curse the ones who think they can get away with lowering of quality while raising of anti-aliasing.
