If you have time in your hands, what else do you need?

User Rating: 8 | Singularity PC
I remember the first time I found out about Singularity. It was probably the beginning of 2009. There were videos of
experiments that had the same title. At that moment it really impressed me, though I didn't know what to expect. Later,
when the trailer was out, I was a bit let down, because I had greater expectations for it. But it was until I actually got it. I've completed the game and I must say, it was an exciting adventure.

The game
What I really like about it is the idea of controlling time. It's not something completely new if you've played anything from
Prince of Persia or even Max Payne series, but it's different every time. In this game you are on a mission to the Katorga-12
island, where you find out about a new chemical element, discovered by the Soviet Union back in 20th century. That's when you get pulled right into the game. Now I won't tell you much details about the storyline, because I don't want to spoil anything, but trust me, it's an interesting story.

The graphics
Singularity uses the Unreal 3 engine, which is used quite a lot these days... and I don't really like it that much, at least in this game. I'm not saying it looks bad, I just don't like the style. But this engine has one great thing - it's very optimized. You can get good looks without torturing your pc. But really, don't trust me blindly, see it for yourself.

The soundtrack
I can't remember much of the music, but it was good, sometimes it was very tense and added more to the creepy side of the game. I also loved the main theme that starts as soon as you go into the main menu.

The Good:
*A story like no other
*Variety of original weapons
*Fast-paced gameplay
*Has much in common with some of the earlier great games

The Bad:
*Gets a little repetitive at times
*No replay value
*Has much in common with some of the earlier great games

Oh and I forgot to mention that it's pretty creepy at times.
So in conclusion - it's a nice game. Personally, I wouldn't play it again, but that's just me, maybe you'll be so amazed by
this game you'll want to complete it ten times. Also, don't forget to check out the fan site, it's full of very interesting information about the story. Good luck, mr. Renko.
