"HOLY S*HIT!'"...Are the only words I said while playing Singularity. It starts kinda slow, but it gets better and better as you play.
The game will give you a nice amount of cool "toys" to play around with and a powerful device called the TMD.
The TMD works like your plasmid hand in Bioshock, it's upgradeable and you can get new cool powers. Like creating giant bubbles that slow down time and turning your enemies into dust. But the coolest feature about the TMD is the power to manipulate time. You can restore objects to their previous states and the other way around. It's just awesome...
The main weapons aren't anything particularity new, but they still rock. They all have their strengths and weaknesses, but they are upgradeable and feel really good to shoot.
In-game you will have to battle all kinds of creatures and soldiers, that aslo have different weapons and powers, so the combat is very varied and fun. In-fact, the "factor of fun" is what singularity is all about.
The game isn't very scary (mainly because it's not a horror shooter), but it can still scare the crap out of you in a few spots. It's really addictive and has a surprisingly great multilayer. There's only 2 modes, but that's enough to keep you playing for a long time after the end of the campaign. The game is also quite original. It starts like a mix of Metro 2033, Bioshock, and Fallout 3, but the time manipulating powers and the later level design make it unique.
Singularity also features a lot of memorable boss fights and the storytelling is pretty good as well.
The only bad thing I can say about the game (except a few little glitches) are some low-res textures, but who gives a F*'! It's a fast paced first person shooter, not Assassin's Creed 2! Besides, the awesome soundtrack and the cool lighting makes up for it.
Singularity is one of the most underrated games of all time, and it's even better then last years Wolfenstein! (Wich comes form the same developer) Anyways, it doesn't matter what shooters you like, if you simply enjoy shooting dudes in da' face, Singularity is just for you.
