A game with a little more originality than most games these days!

User Rating: 8.5 | Singularity X360
Alright, i want to be the one to tell you right away to check this game out. There aren't a lot of good summer games that are coming out. Alpha Protocol sucked. Naughty Bear sucked. Transformers: War for Cybertron: didn't get to play yet. Singularity is about you and your partner (soldiers or whatever) going to investigate some island. After something goes wrong, your helicopter crashes on the island and you're stranded. The main point is that some decades ago, some experiment went wrong. They were trying to make this bomb called the E99 bomb and it radiated lots of people and turned them into mutants. The dumb scientists had a conflict with each other and a lot of them died. Now, you are to investigate what the hell happened. Throughout the game, you will be able to go back in time to change what happened that day. So enjoy this review.

PROS:

This game has a pretty decent story compared to a lot of the games i've played so far this year with the exception of Alan Wake. It keeps you interested and able to play. It grabs you in some moments just like Bioshock did. The game looks a lot like Time Shift, Bioshock, and Dead Space combined. There are some fun boss fights throughout the game. You get awesome special abilities from freezing time to shooting bursts from your hand to take down multiple enemies to whatever other stuff that i already forgot lol. You get opportunities to upgrade your weapons and special abilities throughout the game at the right time. You also get to upgrade yourself like more health packs or more TMD (special ability). The game has a decent ending in which you will be satisfied enough. There are lots of things to explore for. I explored a lot in this game and as long as you're doing that, you won't have a problem with health packs or ammo. Plus, you get to listen to audio recordings and read notes from the incident that happened that day to fill you in on the story.

CONS:
Alright, the thing that suffers the most in the game is that there are a bunch of glitches and frame rate issues. I saw some guy that i killed spinning in the air and twitching. That's the main concern with the game (glitches). There are not enough boss fights to keep it fun. The game does have a lot more originality than most games these days by having a traveling-back-in-time element to it like Timeshift did. The problem is it looks a lot like Bioshock and a couple of other games combined. You know how i love originality but this one doesn't deliver enough to keep me satisfied. Although, it's a lot more than most shooters. I didn't play the multiplayer because of my wireless adapter being broken and all. I've seen gameplay of the multiplayer. I'll tell you that it looks **** It's really laggy and has lots of problems as well.

CLOSING COMMENTS:
Although, there are a lot of glitches and other problems, the story and exploration and awesome time traveling and freezing abilities allow me to forget about those things. Singularity isn't the best game nor is it one of the best games i've played ever. But i'll tell you this and that's it's one of the best games i've played this year so far. So rent it first and if you like it buy it. It doesn't have a lot of replay value. The normal difficulty can get a little too easy sometimes especially when you've upgraded most of the weapons and yourself. I'd definately recommend this game rather than Alpha Protocol for sure. So check it out and catch my gameplay footage of it on my youtube channel (HardcoreGamer101508).
