Sly Cooper is Back!

I have been a huge fan of the Sly Cooper games since they first launched years back. This summer, I picked up a copy of the first game again hoping to relive old times. When I heard that they were re-making the trilogy for the PS3, I was very nervous. I was nervous about how well the series would stand the test of time. And to my delight, I am here to say that the Sly Cooper Collection has not only passed my expectations, but almost blew me away.

The graphics are super crisp and the gameplay is as strong as ever. The HD remake looks absolutely gorgeous. The only thing that underwhelmed me was the lack of an update for the audio. Sly and the gang sound good enough, but the explosions, smacks with the cane, and some other effects leave some to be desired.

Although the Sly games are known for lack of difficulty and length, all of this remains true. Enemies die in one hit, and bosses are pushovers. But since all three games are on the disc (not to mention for only $40), this is one of the best values since the Orange Box. With all three games, your looking at around 30 hours of gameplay for the discounted price. This is one of the best games in recent memory and any Sly fan should be sure and check it out.
