Graphically the game is just decent or maybe less.The textures are pretty bad.Most of the color are washed out, making impossible to see enemies 20 m away without the cross hair.
The gameplay is solid although your team members' behavior are annoying. For instance they don't follow your orders right away and have to be told multiple times.This is because they can be stuck behind wall or just ignore the orders sometimes.Although the enemy AI is good. The vehicules physics are decent if not bad. The collision and physics of the cars can be annoying sometimes.
The sound is ok. Although the music is pretty much the same, the voice acting is pretty good.The cars sound and the guns' are not quite right.
The online is a major part of the Socom series.But the decent graphics and the character models can be fustrating after a while. It's really hard to distinguish the enemy from the ally when both look similar.Also there is no respawn in the game, so once you die, you are dead for the rest of the game. Although the game support up to 32 players, the feeling of being on a battlefield with actually 32 players ins't there at all.
Overall Socom is a good for the fan of the series.But if you are new to the series,it's hard to recommend this game but rental will definitely be the way to good.
