Socom 3 is a great shooter and much more

User Rating: 9 | SOCOM 3: U.S. Navy SEALs (Greatest Hits) PS2
Pros: Online(32 players); Tons of weapon possibilities; tactical movement; larger maps; enjoyable singleplayer; vehicles; ability to swim

Cons: Sometimes mean online community; some glitches

Since the original release of Socom 1 and 2 we were all expecting a Socom 3 am I right?

While we got it, and I don't know about you but it stood out by a bit in the series to me. I would say Socom 3 should be a welcome addition to anyones playing archive/collection and should be played online for the most part. Socom 3 is generally good, but you may want to be wary of a few things before the purchase.

The online aspect of the game is the big highlight, aswell they added a few more modes. The servers are mostly filled with demolition and suppression for all the old-school players from back then. There are a few servers where you will get the good ol' run in shoot; celebrate; start again. Then theres the servers with the lowsy punks who will pick at you the whole game if you screw up once. Don't let this get to you though because you can ignore them and or just unplug the headset.

Aswell as the multiplayer theres the single player, which is slightly less glorious. You start as the leader of a four man team, as you go throughout Africa and Asia fighting terrorism, pretty simple but can prove to be quite challenging and fun. The single player does not match up with the multiplayer, so keep more to the online adapter although it may have some connection problems some times.

The weapon customization is also another highlight of the game and it comes with over 1000+ choices that you will either keep the default, or spend most of the whole game getting your weapon to peak of perfection. But don't be too hasty, making your weapon with addons is a risk you must take from encumberment could be just around the corner and you will move slow, most likely to be shot. Although it may prove very fun to customize, don't spend too long on it.

The whole game is fairly decent, the only way it loses points is for the extra $29.99 Canadian you will have to spend if you don't already have a headset, and maybe the somewhat sketchy graphics at very close sight.

Overall Socom 3 should be accepted to anyones collection and bought in time for this Christmas!
