SOCOM: Navy Seals 2, better than last and about to get better.

Tom Clancy has done it again. Navy Seals 2 is a fantastic game, one which I enjoyed playing very much. I liked just about everything about this game which I think succeeded in creating the experience of what a day in the life of an American Navy Seal is like. The first thing that you are going to notice is the graphics, which is simply fantastic, the background and architectures were very well done. The weapon designs and all of the accessories that the Seals carry with them are very detailed and realistic; the sound is as equally as realistic and immersive, from the conversations between the terrorists in different languages to the commands and the confirmation between the Seals, the gun fire, the sounds as the Seals walked, ran and crawled, as they traverse through all types of different terrains were all very realistic. Most of the animation was very well done, however, there were a few things that should have been taken care of before the game was released, namely the many glitches in the movement of the Seals who simply get in each others way, to add to this the Seal team does not seem to follow orders very well and I found myself having to reissue the same commands over and over, diverting my attention from my fire sector to that of a team members ordered firing sector and having to take out enemies before they toke out my entire team or the any civilian being escorted at that time. This in the end made me doubt the abilities of the team, which then made me feel as though I was alone rather than a part of an elite Seal team. Never the less, putting all that aside I still enjoyed SOCOM: Navy Seal very much and I hope that the next installment will be nothing less than what a Tom Clancy game should be like. When they make the next Navy Seal game they should take a look at Ghost Recon or even though it’s a single player stealth game maybe Splinter Cell could lend some influence in what the next Navy Seal game should look or play like. Just as long as they don’t look at any of the Rainbow 6 series, none of which I liked at all, maybe because I do not in general like first person shooters. All in all, SOCOM: Navy Seals is a great game and is you have not played it yet, I suggest that you do so as soon as possible, you will not be sorry.
