This game is 5 years old now and it sure does feel like it!

I didn't play Socom 2 online so I can only comment on the single player attributes of the game. The campaign is definitely challenging and long enough to get your $10 out of it. The missions are quite varied as well. You always feel like you are doing something different in each mission.

The problem with the game is the clumsy interface. I know that if you have the headset it is a lot easier but who wants to have that thing sitting on their head for hours at a time while playing. Games like Rainbow Six: Vegas and Brothers in Arms have revolutionized squad command, making things feel much more intuitive. In this game you have to scroll through 3 mini-menus to get your allies to do what you want.

The graphics are defininitely showing their age. The foilage in the game is downright atrocious. The other problem I had in the game was even with aim assist on, the aiming is way too sensitive. I got killed numerous times just because I couldn't get a bead on the enemy that was standing five feet away from me.

One other good thing about the game is that the objectives are well spelled out so you won't spend a lot of time wandering around wondering what to do. That is a definite plus. You also recieve a lot of extra information at the beginning of each mission that you can simply skip through if you don't really care about the details of the story.
