Single Player Review
The psp has a wide variety of gameThe psp has a wide variety of game genres but the most enjoyable would be the third person shooter with games like Resistance Retribution and Syphon Filter Dark Mirror. And of course there is SOCOM Fire Team Bravo 1 and 2.
Set after Fire team Bravo 2, this time you play as wraith (the main guy on the cover) with his Team of elite Soldiers. This time you are to capture a former KGB (the main enemy) named Vasli Gozorov. Missions range from Snowy mountains to urban streets chasing down this man. As you find out there is more to this than the single man you come across many different scenarios including a capture of one of your team mates. As you can tell it's not much of a story and you're right. The story is downright weird and boring with one of the most questionable ending.
The missions now encourage you to be more stealthful, rewarding you in everyway. The campaign is now very very short and easy, I finished it in a mere 4 hours also completing most of the bonuses, and the AI is still a complete let down, enemies will just stand out in the open waiting for you to kill them. New to the series is a medal system which makes you replay the missions for that extra unlocks which are primarily weapons and costumes.
Also new to the series is Custom missions which allows you to customize the campaign missions with the amount of guards, type of guards and ai team mates. Custom missions do have s few more extra spins on the missions but its not out there. This mode can be completed along or with a friend ad hoc or online.
Single Player Score- 6/10
Multi Player Review
The major highlights of the previous SOCOM games were the multiplayer. Fire team Bravo 3 is more multiplayer driven this time than the single player campaign. Letting you go online with people around the world or with a friend next to you. Multiplayer comes in two serves, Co-op and Competitive. Co-op lets you and some one help you tackle on the quick campaign or custom missions.
The Competitive multiplayer aspect has your usual aspects of the SOCOM universe with the usual death match, team death match, demolition defend the leader and suppression. With 16 players max online and ad-hoc, thats if you have 16 friends with the same game around you. I havent thoroughly been online but it is great, spawn points are now not at the same spot and the maps are much bigger.
The guns would have your usual machine guns, Aks. The customizable options for your character online will depend on CE as well as which weapons you would use. Some of these unlock as you complete medals so going straight online is without risk.
Multiplayer score - 9/10
Overall
The single player campaign of SOCOM Fire team Bravo 3 is a disappointment and is very short but the game is reinforced with a strong multiplayer, Co-op and customizable system. This genre is getting stronger and stronger but this lacks in a good campaign.
Overall this game is made for so if you don't have access to Wi-Fi or any friends with this its not such a good idea but if you do have 'friends' and Wi-Fi its a must have game for the PSP.
