Straight from the battlefields to the palm of our hands, SOCOM does it again!

User Rating: 9.3 | SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo PSP
SOCOM U.S. NAVY SEALs: FIRETEAM BRAVO is without a doubt, one of the best games out there for the PSP. Being the latest addition to the SOCOM series [along with SOCOM III (PS2)], FIRETEAM BRAVO does not let the series down.

This game has an awesome single player mode in which you once again, travel the world, in stealth of course, as a veteran SEAL named Sandman, along with your fellow SEAL Lonestar, together fighting against terrorism. There are different game modes in SOCOM including instant action and the campaign mode.

There is also an ad-hoc mode in which you can play against up to 9 nearby friends (10 including yourself), and also an infrastructure mode that allows you to play against anyone in the US or Canada. In infrastructure, there can be up to 16 people playing at a time. The SOCOM serires is mostly known for it's online play, and though FIRETEAM BRAVO does lack in this category when compared to the PS2 versions, it is still kick @$$!! Two online modes that you can compete in are Extraction, in which you try to rescue the hostages (if you are a SEAL), and the other being Supression, which is an all out assault, no teams, just yourself against everybody. These are just the two main ones, but there are a few more also. There is also a special headset which you can use for this game.

The graphics in SOCOM are unbelievably great!! The best I've seen in a PSP game, and not far from those in a PS2 game.....maybe.....well, they're good. Really good.

FIRETEAM BRAVO really puts you on the battlefield with the great sound effects. You can hear everything from distant footsteps, to enemy bullets slamming into your very self.....that, you don't want to hear as much.

One of the main concerns from the people who want to buy this game are how the controls will be....or....at least it was in my case. FIRETEAM BRAVO has very simple controls complete with an automatic lock-on, which is good for single player, but can be annoying in online play, because once you're in somebody's range, they have you locked on. There is no sniping with this feature. It's kill or be killed. I'm alright with this, seeing as I never snipe and just run out with my gun blaring.

Overall, I would say FIRETEAM BRAVO is probably the best PSP game out so far. If you are having trouble picking a game, this would be my first recommendation. It's only $39.99 at most places (in the US) being cheaper than other games which aren't even half as good as this one. It's a good deal and is worth every single penny.
