Good but not quite great
The missions and levels are linear to say the least and often end up repeating themselves. I have SOCOM on PS2 and its best feature is online. This installment however laacks in the online area, its biggest drawback is the voice chat, you have to fork out extra cash for it and it will drain your battery life before you can say MAN DOWN. Your team mates often follow their own tactics and you either follow them or go on your own. There is also a lack of people playing at one time so games often end up being unfair (uneven teams) adn it spoils the fun. Getting you mates playing round your house is much better but even then thanks to the AWFUL bettery life of the PSP you will not spend long on the game before it turns off.
All in all this is a good game but lacks depth and the online is not that great.
The graphics aren't even that great with most textures being rough and the soilders all look pretty similar.
The one player is pretty drab, the enemy AI is weird inn the fact that sometimes they will look stright at you and not see you but other times a gaurd will be placed somewhere totally stupid just to catch you out. It is very frustrating when you sneak past a battalion of gaurds to conserve ammo only for a lone guy to be stood round a corner.
If you have the previous SOCOM then this online wont impress you much as most of the maps are the same, the weapons are the same and practically everything else is too. This is a game for die hards or noobs
