Socom is a third person shooter that puts you in the role of a navy and have to put a stop to terrorism.The single player has 12 missions and is decently hard.During the single player you'll find that stealth not only makes it easier it makes it funner. However the single player is not the main draw of the game.Socom's multiplayer is the best multiplayer game since counter strike.During the multiplayer you will choose either seal or terrorist(similar to counter strike)and have a different mission to do depending on which map you choose.The two most popular missions are hostage rescue and demolition.In demolition one team must get a bomb and blow up the enemy base by planting it in a designated zone.In hostage rescue the terrorist are holding the hostages and the seals must get the hostages and bring them to the extraction zone. This game alone is a good enough reason to go out and buy a network adapter.Without the adapter the game isn't able to be played to potential.Plus the adapter doesn't have a monthly fee so there isn't much of a reason to not get it. If you been looking for a good multiplayer game look no more.
