SOCOM: U.S. Navy Seals is a fun, highly addictive game. The online multiplayer is great to. But every games has their flaws. In single player, you travel through four different countries to battle terrorism. T he problem comes when you beat the game. There is nothing different but the enemy AI. If you have played it as much as i have (a lot of sleepless nights) it becomes redundant and you can get bored easily. Your team is highly skilled........in the beginning. As you progress through the game, the enemy becomes more skilled than your team. This is ever so present in the Lt Junior and Lieutenant grade (it took me about 2 years to beat Lt Junior grade and im currently stuck on Lieutenant). Your team is efficient in the higher difficulties for about the first six levels. After that it becomes a burden to have them along. Boomer, one of your teammates, is 9 out f 10 times the first one to die within the first 4 minutes of the game. The enemy AI becomes EXTREMELY difficult coming towards the end of the game. The enemy now has nearly perfect aim. Your team becomes sloppy and is constantly getting killed. For example, on lieutenant, I was playing the level with the three POWs and my team was close to me (about a foot to two feet away) and an enemy ran up killed me and then shot the rest of my team in less than 10 shots. The worst part is my team didn't even let of ONE round to avenge my death. My favorite teammate is Boomer, though he makes me want to kill him every time. He's not the most quiet person, but when it comes to a fire fight, I know he will go postal on the terrorists before dieing, which at that point im dieing right behind him. The online play is really good. I find lag isn't even a problem 99% of the time. Certain guns are not available for online like the M4A1 M203. I guess its to keep matches from becoming a frag fest. The big downside for me are some of the players. Glitching seems to be a problem for PS2 online play.......at least for SOCOM. Its not like infinite ammo or super jumps, it is more invincibility, invisibility, one shot kills with all guns, flying, and the worst is when they combine all of them with automatic sniper rifles. The sniper rifle the glitchers make automatic is the M82, yes that BIG A** SNIPER RIFLE, and it kills you with one shot (no not all the sniper rifles kill with on shot.........not after the first 3 levels and except for the SR-25 they have a really REALLY slow fire rate). The things i said about the game may have you thinking "why the high rating?". Its all about how much the PROS outweighs the CONS. I feel there are to many good things in the game to give list. I would recommend this game to any one who likes some stealth in their military-based shooting games.
