Yet again the chao have come, Shadow introduces an amazing plot, and Crush 40 returns for music...
Their first appearence were in Sonic Adventure, they played a key role as sort of Chaos's children. They were still used as emblem gatherers then too though. In Sonic Adventure 2 they play a less key role and so, are probaly less noticed their. Sonic Adventure 2: Battle alowed you to play as them in robots and shoot each other though, it also alowed you to make them fight in Chao karate... :) Beating up chao without actually smacking them in the face with the fist of Knuckles...
Now that we have the little annoyance of chao over our chest let's get designated with the main plot of Sonic Adventure 2. Shadow the hedgehog seems like a duplicate of Sonic, but is he? No he's more dark and tormented by a horrific past. He is released by the genius, Dr. Eggman. When Shadow promises world domination by gaining the Chaos Emeralds and bringing them to the Space Colony Ark, Eggman is very intrigued. Sonic and Tails are determined to stop this. Knuckles however has trouble with a bat named Rouge. The story progresses to the end where you finally get to use Super Sonic and this time Super Shadow who sin't any different then Sonic.:(
The gameplay is very boring except for the speedsters, Sonic and Shadow. You once again have the oppurtunit of collecting emerald pieces with Knuckles and this time Rouge.(Why does everyone need an equal match? Multiplayer mode...) Even the new series of a shooter mode was added, this is probaly the least greatest of all the modes. Either way getting all A ranks is a pain in the arce.
The bosses can be fun for Rouge, Knuckles, Sonic, and Shadow. Rouge and Knuckles just fight with fist and heels, Sonic and Shadow fight with extreme speed. The shooters are dull because if you hit the ground in certain parts their fat machines sink. I enjoyed the final Sonic vs. Shadow battle, it held the challenge of hitting them without them using a Chaos Control. Then the Biolizard with Shadow was too easy, and the final hazard way too easy. Is their anything not easy in this game? The hard mode? No that was more like intermediate mode.
Once again Crush 40 comes into preform music, especially the loved theme: Live and Learn. They were the artist of Open Your Heart and It Doesn't Matter. Crush 40 produces some of the greatest music ever, thank who ever...
