Sonic DX is a remake of the original Dreamcast version, for those who missed out on Sonic's greatest game in history.
[THE BAD] Character's mouths look demented in some movies
Most of us can agree that Sonic Adventure was the best Sonic game in history. If you ask any common Sonic fan on the street what their favorite Sonic game is, they'll either say this or Sonic CD. Well this is my favorite game ever. The reasons why? Keep reading my dear friend.
We find the story beginning as Sonic is jumping around Station Square, the human part of Mobius. Suddenly he sees cop cars rushing to a dead end where a liquid creature, Chaos appears. Sonic confronts Chaos and defeats him, as he disappears into a sewer. Now Sonic finds Eggman, who reveals that Chaos grows with each Chaos Emerald it "eats". So Sonic and Tails must get the Emeralds before Eggman does.
Graphics. I've said it before, and many other people have said it. Graphics do NOT make the game! If a game has terrible graphics but great gameplay and a detailed storyline, will the graphics kill it? No. The graphics are actually pretty good for a GC game, and improve on the original DC graphics. The fps and polygon count have been upped, even though the characters' mouths look demented at some points.
The gameplay and controls are smooth, and Sonic quickly accelerates to a fast pace by using the control stick. You can also Homing Attack, Spin Dash, and with level-up items, you can use Light Dash and Ancient Light. You can also play as 5 other characters: Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Big and Gamma. Metal Sonic and Super Sonic can also be unlocked. (Metal Sonic does not have his own story, however.)
Sounds in DX are very catchy and the themes for each character are awesome (except Big, he sucks) and the level music is cool except Red Mountain and Mystic Ruins, they're kinda demented... Sound has always been a constant thing in Sonic games, and it always will be.
Sonic's greatest adventure is a must own, whether on Gamecube or Dreamcast. The story is mysterious, the songs are amazing, and the bosses are big, imaginative, tough, and impressive. Need I go on?
