With all the bad sonic games out there and overload of kart racing game, this one stands out as a solid title.

Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing is a surprisingly good game. There have been so many Sonic games in recent years and so many of them have been pretty bad that I have really lost track of any interest in a good Sonic game for a long time now. Kart racing is another genre, where games try to mimic what Mario and the Nintendo franchise have done so well at for years now that it's hard to imagine another kart racing game grabbing anyone's attention.

What makes this game work? It's the combination of elements that on their own wouldn't be very special. The combination of various Sega franchise characters with some very well designed beautiful looking tracks and some tight driving with some so-so power-ups.

There is some great multi-player options that really round out this solid kart racing title that gives Mario a run for his money and provides some racing options for those who might be bored by the Mario gang or don't have Nintendo Wiis and are still looking for a fun cartoon kart racing game would do well to pick this up.
