Sonic and the Black Knight is Almost Amazing

I think it's clear that SEGA back then had some really great ideas that worked well for the most part. They always had tacked in gimmicks but I think I have finally found the best gimmick for sonic that works well. Sonic and the Black Knight's mechanic is the swordplay that is utilized in many different ways, for one you can just slash enemies on ground or do a combo swing and buzz saw every single enemy in a row which is my favorite. Doing this is really satisfying and still carries the momentum very well because sonic turns into a ball so it's fitting. Not only that there are so many different moves and variety of mechanics within the level design. Like cutting down trees to grind, shooting arrows with a sword to grind, slicing through structures, destroying locks, climbing on walls, swinging on poles, reflecting light on a crystal and literally slaying a dragon either with a pole or it's crystal. Not only that you can also do a soul surge to slice enemy's in a cool and unique way, especially for bosses and bigger enemies. But I haven't even got into the soundtrack, story and visual presentation yet because they are all amazing. The soundtrack is atmospheric, mystical, metal and very cool. Sonic's characterization is some of the best in the series, genuinely fantastic writing, And the visuals are one of the best the Wii has to offer. They're are some real goldmines like Molten Mine, Deep Woods, Shrouded Forest, Crystal Cave, Dragon's Lair, Titanic Plain and so many more. Also the looks of other stuff like the in-game engine look great and level design may not be very open but has so much fun variety. Only flaws I have is that the combat could have had more mechanics or manipulation within the level design or the fact that this game is pretty short.
