I haven't seen a Sonic fighting game since Sonic Fighters came out in arcades. Sonic Battle is the blue hedgehog's second fighting game and it's a pretty good one at that. Sonic Battle starts off with Sonic finding a robot at Emerald Beach. At first glance, you think it's an ordinary robot, but it can actually copy Sonic and friends' moves and use them in battle by editing them at the edit screen. When you get into a battle, you choose 2 special attacks to use and the third is used to defend yourself from that certain special technique your opponent has, however it must be the same as the one you chose or else you'll get destroyed out there. What I liked about this game is the editing system. Whenever you win a battle, Emerl copies a move or two for you to use as attacks, which are put into the form of trading cards. Also you can heal yourself. Just press the L button and you can regenerate lost damage, plus, you have a special meter. Once it gets full you can unleash a one hit K.O. to easily defeat your opponents. You'll have a whole lot of fun in multi-player mode's head-to-head combat. You'll unlock more and more arenas as you move along in story mode. Music is great, character models are nice too. If you're a Game Boy Advance owner looking for a decent fighting game, then Sonic Battle is definitely worth the money.
