Platforming at it's best

User Rating: 10 | Sonic the Hedgehog CD SCD
Sonic CD was first released back in 1993 on the ill fated Sega CD and people had to wonder would Sonic CD be the game to get the Sega CD back into the market well in a word not really, but Sonic CD was one of the few games to show that the Sega CD had potential, but it was just a bad system, but enough of the Sega CD, we're talking about Sonic CD one of the best Sonic games besides the original Sonic game. The story of Sonic CD has our hero Sonic learning of Dr. Robotnik doing another of his evil plans as always and it's up to Sonic to stop him and this time Amy tags along and gets herself into trouble and Sonic must face Metal his robotic counterpart. Now the gameplay in Sonic CD is the same as Sonic the Hedgehog and that's a good thing, but one thing Sega threw into the mix is the time traveling element which adds a lot more depth to the game and makes it more difficult, but that's what makes the game great because it makes you want to collect the time stones to see Sonic's quest go along better and faster and the ending scene for both endings is great, but the good ending is best, but Sonic CD does have a few problems and that is it can be very difficult to get good futures in every zone and not know where the robot generating machines are, but thanks to FAQs you can get the job done. The music is Sonic CD is great it fits nicely into the game and I know a lot of people are divided on the American and Japanese music, but i think both soundtracks are great. All in all Sonic CD is a game that shows the roots of a great character before the addition of the other characters.
