Big disappointment, after the excellent Sonics Adventures. It has a weak and artificial gameplay and repetitive levels.

User Rating: 6.6 | Sonic Heroes PS2
After the excellent Sonics Adventures it was hoped a new game that surprised with evolved gameplay and graphics, many, big and original stages and a great story line. A game that was as innovative as SA1 and as fast and spectacular as SA2. By other words: a game where Sonic spirit was presented at his best.

Sonic Heroes is the opposite of this. Pure and opened gameplay changed into weak and artificial gameplay. Team system failed (it’s neither fun nor efficient). Enemies and bosses are defeated by insistence instead by using ability and intelligence.
There are only 7 sceneries and 14 levels (which are repetitive). They are not as fast as they should be and many times they are bored.
Graphics, although are evolved, are a bit too colorful and have some defects like reflections in characters which make them seem made of plastic.
Story line almost doesn’t exist. There are no mini-games and only 2 missions for each level. Menus design could be better.

Best things of this game are music (that came down a bit of quality) and beauty of some levels (especially Seaside Hill). So you can like this game at first but quickly you’ll be tired of it because levels are repetitive and beat enemies is an insistence task. Sonic Heroes isn’t a game with much to offer.
