This is what retro gaming should be like. Pure genious.

Everyone remembers the old days. When money and the opposite sex wern't an issue, and this collection of classic games helps the nostalgia waggon get back on its wheels.

Sonic was always at the forefront of gaming back in the day, when there was merley Nintendo and Sega duking it out to be the best. This collection captures the spiny blue blur in his element.

The compilation contains all of Sonics major hits. Sonic The Hedgehog, Sonic 2, Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles, plus a number of spinoff games, and a few games for the ill-fated Sega gamegear. The first four Genesis/Megadrive games are by far the best.

All four have some of the fastest gameplay of any retro game, intricate levels, and some of the best retro music ever composed. Sonic 3 was also one of the first sources of a properly intergrated save system (Removing the need for passwords).

Anyone could play these games for ages. The controls are hardly complicted, all the buttons do exactly the same thing. Its simply jump, and run. Yet these games are still a source of sheer fun. And that's somthing a few games these days lack.

Of course there are a number of games the collection could do without. Some of the Gamegear games are a chore to play (Sonic Labyrinth anyone?) and there are two games on there which have been simply bolted on (Although Comix Zone is Gaming excellence). Needless to say, I would be happy if half these games were removed.

If you value the halcyon days of gaming, buy this, play it, and play it again. It never gets old (Terrible joke)
