Everything about this game is amazing. Anyone who still has their sega genesis, you will need to pick this game up right away if you dont for some reason have it. The first layed the way, but it just seemed to bulky, but it was still fun. But the 2nd just keeps you coming back for more. You could just play it all day. To this day I still remember every level and every boss fight. Thats how good this game is. What makes this game so nostalgic is the three big key factors. The first is the music. Secondly, the levels are anything but boring and drab. And finally, the fast pace gameplay which is a staple of this series. The music takes you back to a time when nothing mattered. All that mattered was foiling Dr. Robotniks plans to rule the world. And this was a must before supper. Each level has its own unique little clip of music that will play over and over, but they never get boring. When I was a little kid I would even hum along with the tunes...thats just how catchy they are. For example, the first level has a really mellow but upbeat pace. But once you hit the casino level, the pace is anything but mellow. Its a frantic race to get to the end. And the levels are just amazing. There is a notable old school look to them, everything squared off, but everything still looks great. Bright colors in every level. Water looks almost transparent, and the sky glows and just seems to go on forever. And how could we forget the staple of this series. Many kids back in the day compared Sonic vs. Mario. But they are very different games. Mario is jumping, kicking, and shooting fireballs. Sonic is fast paced, rapid action and just insane amounts of speed. This game is the best in the 3 for the genesis. The first was a little slower and a little more platforming. And the third kinda got you off track a lot. There were a lot of levels that made you do a lot more thinking than just having pure speed.
