Addition of Knuckles, new abilities, and fleshed-out enviornments make Sonic's 3rd installement on the Genesis great.

User Rating: 9 | Sonic the Hedgehog 3 GEN
The Good:

| The addition of Knuckles, character-specific abilities, and a new enviornment make this the deepest Sonic on the Genesis | Great save system | Awesome price | Nostalgia from cruddy 3-D titles and 15 years just add a whole point to the score |

The Bad:

| It really should be mixed with Sonic and Knuckles for a bigger price (1600 points would work) | Special Zones could be better |

As we all know, Sonic has had a major decline in quality ever since he got 3D (Although handhelds and Unleashed beg to differ). So it just gets better going back to the old days, where Sonic was against Mario, and the good-ol' team tried as hard as they could to win against Nintendo.

The thing I like about the remake on the VC is the Nostalgia. If there's anything to gain from the awfulness of games like Sonic 2006, it's how refreshing it is to go back, and play a classic Sonic the Hedgehog before there were crappy controls, ugly graphics, and embarassing characters like Big the Cat and Cream the Rabbit.

Other than that, there is now the matter of the actual game. I will be using a Improve-Still Wrong system to compare Sonic 2 and 3

Improve Still Wrong

Save System Unusually Confusing Special Zones
Triple the Depth Unoriginal Badniks
Lush Enviornments Could be a Little Longer
Great Boss Fights Can't See Some Bottomless Pits
Tails can be Super Super/Hyper Controls Sloppy

However, those are only minor qualms that barely affect the game. I just wish that the game could have came with Sonic and Knuckles for an extra price.
