Something about this game just ain't right!

After losing about 25 lives on Casino Street Zone 3, I'm about finished with this game. I'm not sure why SEGA and the Sonic Team decided that players loved this type of zone from the old games; as a kid, I always HATED the Casino levels. I remember getting Sonic Spinball for Christmas and after playing it for an hour I didn't touch it again. There's parts of the level design that leave you scratching your head, as the momentum is sucked right out by trying to find an imaginary ledge that is clearly far out of view, and the only way to initially get from point A to B is straight up luck.

The music and visuals are enjoyable, but I kept finding myself wanting to play Sonic the Hedgehog 2 instead, even if it is a twenty year-old game. Sixteen years later they decide to release this? I'm finding this whole package to be far too little and far too late.

Where the Hell are Tails and Knuckles? This seems more like a recreation of Sonic the Hedgehog 1 rather than a direct sequel to the other games. And please don't ask us to purchase them as playable characters later. I know this game will end up tallying a $60 bill by the time it's fully completed, and that's not a fair price for this type of game; not by a long shot. If you miss the old school platform titles, I think most of us will fare better with the new incarnations in the form of Mega Man 10 and New Super Mario Bros., a game that has incredible depth for its genre.

There's a certain level of cohesiveness and fluidity that a Sonic game is supposed to have, and we haven't seen that since 1994.
