Sonic The Hedgehog (Sega Genesis) A classic in every sense of the word.

I'll always remember the first time. The first time I beheld this gem that is Sonic The Hedgehog. I went over to a friends house. Now, keep in mind I had no idea he had this game until he said "wanna see something cool?" absolutely! so he fired up the Sega Genesis and thats when I heard it for the first time SEGA! and from the first level I was transfixed. My eyes never left the screen as I was in the grasp of platforming perfection. The graphics (mindblowing at the time) were so COLORFUL. The motion in which Sonic moved was so crisp and FAST. But, nothing prepared me for the BONUS STAGE. If my jaw was not on the floor by then it was at that moment. Background and rotating goodness filled the screen. I think what I loved about the game too was the music especially the Starlight Zone! Super Mario is the King but Sonic The Hedgehog is the Prince.
Years later when Sonic The Hedgehog was released as part of the Mega Collection on the PS2 along with Sonic The Hedgehog II and III it was a no brainer. Years later this platformer is still one of the best and that is something that will never change for us old school gamers. Ah, memories.....
