Gamespot got their review completely the wrong way round!

User Rating: 3 | Sonic Unleashed WII
Sonic unleashed was a game which i highly looked forward to playing and with the 360 version i was instantly stunned by how fast and addicting it was. I was equally stunned by gamespots absolutely pathetic review saying the controls are 'unresponsive'. So just for the fun of it i had a go at the Wii version while i was at my mothers house and the first thought i had was... 'what were gamespot thinking when they gave this game a 7?!'

Eventhough ive been a fan of Sonic since the days he first arrived in to 3D gameplay, this game is so poor it almost made me cry at how broken it was. First off, there is WAY to much werehog, and i thought the 360 version was bad, but with the Wii's version its just totally offputting for once you finish one of these hideous levels, you move straight onto yet another werehog level. Not to mention, the controls are completely unresponsive with the wii mote and nunchuk so if you have a gamecube controller... use it because it will at least let you gain a spec of control.

The total letdown of the wii version however was the horrible level designs and controlling issues on the actual sonic levels. Designed to be the fast paced part of the game, they were what i anticipated greatly on the 360 version, however with this version it was more of a grind than a fast paced experience. Sonic cannot turn corners and keeps grinding along fenceposts, when he falls it looks like hes attempting to do the long jump but failing miserably, and even the sonic boost is completely and utterly useless, first for the fact you can hardly ever use it because of, what you think is open areas, actually just has a huge bump in the middle which sonic will literally splat in to. This completely takes away the sense of speed as this happens constantly even if you memorise the level, which really does suck out loud. Whats more on the wii version, you may only boost for a small period of time before Sonic slows down again, so no holding onto boost and speeding through a level... no no... its more like 20MPH to 1000MPH and back to a measly 20MPH till you come across another row of rings. I guess the reason this was done was because of the levles being designed to break the speed up completely.

Sonic unleashed for the Wii truly is a very poor game. The only up side is you dont need to go round a town looking for the next level but other than that it is a complete and utter waste of time which should be used to fuel your barbecue. Maybe its just me but seriously Sonic fans i really didnt get the hype of this version of Sonic unleashed
