Not a good start for the series.

Oh man maybe I should have played this game BEFORE Soul Calibur 2 because it did nothing but dissapoint me. I never played Soul Calibur on Dreamcast but Soul Calibur 2 and Soul Calibur 3 makes this game obsolete. I mean why would anyone want to play this game anymore? Maybe people who are addicted to old-school? Well this game does prove that old-school games aren't always good.

The gameplay is slow and sluggish which leads to boring gameplay. The graphics ain't good. They might have okay for it's time but they hurt my eyes and give me stomache pains. The only reason I gave Value a 7 is for Weapon Master mode. It can take a while and it get's harder later on. It could keep you busy to unlock stuff just for completion then after that I never played again. The boss in this game is a little simalar to Inferno from SC2. I think his name is "Soul Edge" Anyway he can prove to be a challenge sometimes.

Well for you fans of the SC series you probably already have this game but if you don't then you're not missing much at all. If you don't have this or Soul Calibur 3 and you want this game I highly reccomend that you buy Soul Calibur 3 instead or even Tekken 5 for that matter. Or if you only have a PS1 then just get Tekken 3.
