Good fighting mechanics and detailed character creation but unfortunately not enough content

User Rating: 7.5 | SoulCalibur: Broken Destiny PSP
Positives
+ Gameplay looks fantastic
+ Combat mechanics are solid
+ Character creation is a lot of fun

Negatives
- Not enough game modes or content

To put it breifly Soul Calibur Broken destiny is a fighter on the PSP- if you've played Soul Calibur on the Xbox 360 you'll know what it's like.

Visually it looks great, cut scenes are well done and exciting and the gameplay dosen't let us down with some good looking animations and characters.
Which leads me onto the character creation- as well as using pre made characters you can also make your own from scratch, you choose their sex, hair, clothing, weapon style and even voice pitch- there's a huge variety of customisation and you can really make some unique characters while using it.

Combat is solid, there are loads of combo moves and different styles of weapons to experiment with, it dosen't get old quickly, the mechanics are simple, first to win 3 games wins the match, you can also smash opponents out of the arena which is called 'a ring out'

As I said, it does lack content, there's a quick match mode, versus mode of the trial mode (they're all bassically the same, just fight enemies one after another)
There's also the gauntlet mode which is like a really long tutorial, I didn't enjoy it and wouldn't reccomend even playing it.

Overall if Soul Calibur Broken Destiny had an in depth story mode involving classics characters from the series then I think it could've been a lot more than a 7.5 score.
But, I highly reccomend it to Soul Calibur fans and fans of the fighting genre.
