A fighting game needn't be complicated. This game proves it.

User Rating: 6.8 | SoulCalibur III PS2
After beating every character's story, I have decided that the story is an ace. The additional characters are interesting, and the new ones are surprisingly good (Zasalamel, I'm looking at you). The first noticable difference is that this game hits only the PS2, and those of you who played only the GC or XBOX will find it harder than those who play this version. Someone screwed up when necrid and Charade were scratched, and then the crappy new RPG mode was added. I don't appreciate this new mode, and the rewards don't seem worth it (new armor or weapons in create a character mode). And, while I was looking forward to the create a character mode, I found it a tad complex and frustrating (you can choose JOBS, not WEAPONS), and if you choose the weapon master job, you never laern any character (like Taki or Raphael) move sets. The graphics are the game's high note, and the music is done well. The difficulty levels are evenly done, meaning that, even on easy modes, you still get a challenge. The mini games get a bonus, too. I just think that a fighting game needn't be be complicated. This game proves it.
