Soul Calibur 3 is basically the same thing as the game before it but isn't that what we wanted? The fluid and simple combo mechanics make a return and are smoother than ever. The animations run fluidly and make you feel like a total badass when you master the moves and impressive combos. The graphics are pretty much the same but a little bit better but I noticed the water particles are pretty nice and shiny. What differs this game from the previous is all the extra modes. Chronicles of the Sword is a strategy game that plays alot better than you think. There are also numerous challenges and arena modes that you can play to hone your skills and gain some quick extra cash. There's also a store to buy new weapons and items for your characters. You also unlock new characters a faster pace compared to SC 2 but the thing is that when you do unlock them, you dont feel as good as you did before. Some of the new characters are just plain dumb and basically templates from the character creation. But having another person to the roster isnt a bad thing is it? So if you're a fan of fighting games with fluid combat then this is a game you wont want to miss with excellent graphics and fast gameplay. If you have the second Im not sure if I would reccomend buying this one also but if the extras are enough to get you to buy them then go for it. It's a great fighting game.
