Total War has gone "Total warrior slaughter".

User Rating: 8.3 | Spartan: Total Warrior GC
The Total War series is argubly the best ever strategy games for the PC out there, But, Spartan: Total Warrior is all about controlling ONE warrior instead of ten thousand people on both sides on screen at once.
Spartan: Total Warrior is basically your Dynasty Warriors Hack 'n slash games and a action game with a gripping story between two Armies, the Romans who are on a conquest to Destroy the country of Greece and the Spartans who are trying to repel the Roman invasion.

THE INVASION.
In the very first level, your up a full-scale Roman invasion when GENRAL CRASSUS the leader of this army sends in his troops to knock down the city your defending SPARTA. And when all thats said and done, you go onto other locations including the remains of the ancient city TROY.
And finally you conclude the game in an epic boss battle against the God Of War ARES.

THE COMBAT.
The combat in STW is very limited, they'res a wide arrange of rage moves with different weapons and magical abilities with different weapons and they'res two different buttons for the two standard attacks you'll be mashing to kill your opponents. The X button is for straight attacks where you'll thrust your weapon in front of you. Whilst there the O button for a crowded attack where you swing your weapon in a semi circle and while holding down the O button you see your character slowly rise his weapon so he'll have more power on the swing of the weapon, when you release the O button you will have a more dangerous attack and have a more bloody result with heads flying all over the place.
When your skills increase your attacks will be more effective which is essential when you take on later enimies, and when your skills increase combat becomes more bloody, more heads sling all over the battlefield bodies are being thrown, it's really all about brutalising your enimies and then cut their heads off. Combat may be limited but it sure is fun. When you find yourself crowded by ten enimies or more you can basically quickly press the X and O buttons and shred your enemies in seconds.
The combat gets good but near the end while watching a cut-scene you can easily guess what you are going to do.
Yes, you chop their heads of throw them all over the place and thats all there is to it. They'res a bow and arrow to take foes from a distance and you can open a crate and grab some fire arrows or find them lurking around corners or what have you but even that isn't all that great. You can hold R2 when using the bow with L2 and shoot like bolts of lighting from your bow and they'll spread throughout the battlefield or what have you.

THE CONCLUSION.
All in all, Spartan: Total Warrior is a great game with a couple of glitches here and there but all in the way it's a good smooth game to the finish.
If you are a fan of the Dynasty Warrior series and you enjoy Hack 'n Slash games or action games or action adventure games, you should not hesitate to grab this one.
