Great Gameplay, Great Graphics, Terrible Voice Actors... Whoever played Castor... I mean you.

User Rating: 8.4 | Spartan: Total Warrior PS2
Spartan Total Warrior is a good game, immersing you in the action with dozens of fellow soldiers, (don't really get your hopes up with hundreds of men with you but still huge battles) though you're also, always, of course, outnumbered. There are many types of environments, though there isn't very much color texture, the fight over Sparta and fighting in the desert seem to be in the same place, you'd think that you're fighting in the middle east for Sparta.

The graphics I thought weren't too bad, maybe even good. It has rather blocky characters true, but it also has a clear picture, so you won't get confused about whose who in the middle of a fight, and be able to get a better understanding of the terrain. The amount of soldiers able to fit in one screen seems great to me, and I guess they sacrificed better graphics for that, (totally worth it ; D).

The sound was HORRIBLE sure the blade slashing, metal clashing, and shield bashing sounded great, but the voice actors were terrible!!! The voices just kill all favor of the sound, and make you either want to mute the tv and turn on some music, or just keep holding X through the videos to skip the speeches. By the way Castors voice actor was both cheesy and bad, a big high and mighty voice... probably TOO mighty was just horrible. The actors of the ordinary foot soldiers would have been better than the voice actors for the main characters.

Overall i think it was a very good game, though not great, proabably a C+ or B. I do suggest though that you don't buy it until it is at least $30
