Since Gamespot requires nice round numbers, I'll give it a 4.5.

User Rating: 4.5 | Spec Ops II: Omega Squad DC
Spec Ops: Omega Squad follows the Spec Ops tradition of total mediocrity. The graphics are pretty bad for the Dreamcast. The characters aren't bad, but the environments are drab. The sounds aren't too good either. The gameplay is average. There are several characters to choose from, such as grenadier, demolitions or infantry. They're all pretty much the same. There are a lot of weapons to choose from, but they're also all pretty much the same. Grenades are useless, since you can't tell where the hell they're going to end up after you throw them. Some missions will require you to take explosives, but it doesn't tell you how much you need. So if you don't take enough, you make it almost all the way through the mission and find out you have to start over. The AI is bad. They're either too bad or too good. Sometimes they'll just stand there while you run up to them, and other times they'll shoot you from so far away you can't even see them, even while you're running. At some points, you'll just get a "mission failed" message, and you'll have to start over, without any explanation. That was pretty much the last straw for me, I didn't bother trying to finish the game after dealing with that a few times. If you're hard up for a military FPS, you can probably find this game cheap. It's not completely horrible, I got a couple hours of somewhat enjoyable play, but don't expect to be impressed.
