The story does not keep this from still being a terrible game.

User Rating: 4 | Spec Ops: The Line PC
Spec Ops The Line is a terrible game. Most of the worst shooter problems show up. The worst one however are the seemingly infinite number of people shooting at you. You never get a break in this game, and even though it only took me 4 hours to complete, it feels like it drags on forever.

The game has an interesting plot that breaks the fourth wall and asks the player, "why are you enjoying this game?". That question would be more meaningful if the game were the slightest bit enjoyable. I was too busy worrying about clunky controls, bad teammate AI, and hordes of enemies who aren't afraid to spawn right on top of you. Any meaning in the game is greatly diminished. I wouldn't expect most players to stick with it long enough to even get to see the story, let alone have it make any impact.
