Something to waste time on
Okay, the first thing I have to say is the game is solid for a child-ish RPG. The colours are pretty nice and the voice acting is just below average... maybe a little more. And if you're an anime fan you might recognise some of the voices.
Spectrobes: Origins is a mix of Kingdom Hearts and Poke'mon... and it works for the most part. Spectrobes are practically the Disney version of a Poke'mon, coming in five different elements which are Fire, Plant, Earth, Wind and Water (and in that order!) You can feed them minerals, which you can find around the place, train them with gear and evolve them with the evolve mineral (who knew!) The KH factor comes in the battle system. There are five types of weapons to choose from in the game: Sword, Lance, Axe, Glove, and Blaster. There's a shield option and there are rice balls which heal you in an instant.
The game-play is pretty much basic and easy; you land on a planet, you search for minerals and fossils, you beat some random goons and "LEVEL UP!!!" and beat the planet boss.
As for the difficultly, or lack thereof unless you're an idiot, is broken. Axes are pretty much broken; some of the Spectrobes are also broken and some of the bosses are simple once you figure them out in the first 5mins... and can be broken if you can't.
The story is not "Holy crap! This game should get an award!" material. You'll figure it out in no time.
So, yeah... as I stated at the beginning, the game is good if you're bored, and that's the only reason why I still have it. Anyway, I hope this helps with whatever you're doing. Till next time, see ye!
