Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy is a great game, which has multi genre Gameplay that is very well put together and works great. Predominantly it is an action game, but has adventure elements to it. Also the game mixes in some plat forming that is very well done. The Gameplay is very good, like I stated the plat forming is very well done. The fighting system works well too. Everything in the game can be executed with precision because the Gameplay is solid. The graphics are great. The character models look awesome. The environments and textures look great too. The animation is great, with little touches like the way the mummy hops and runs at the same time in a really goofy manner, which sells the mummy’s goofy clumsy personality. The only negative to the graphics is that some items and characters will sort of pop up, when you get closer and vanishes when you get further away. I thought that maybe it was the way it shows item appear and disappear in the distance, but it just doesn’t look right. The games sound is defiantly the least polished area of the game. The sounds of the in game action are good, but the games musical score is a little short and you may feel your hearing some themes a few to many times. But that is nothing compared to the fact that the game has absolutely no voice acting. Which does hurt a game; especially with so many dialogs in the many cut scenes. The game is over 20 hours long. So it’s a pretty long game for a primarily action game. Overall this is a great game that is very well done. The game also features a great story which even if you have no interest in Egyptian mythology you will enjoy the games story and atmosphere. The Sphinx portions of the game are very action oriented and the Mummy portions are puzzle oriented, which at times can be pretty tricky to solve. The game has a bunch of unique boos fights you will be pitted against as Sphinx. This game is a good pick up for most video game fans, even ones who aren’t as big of fans as other games in the genre like Ratchet and Clank or Jak and Daxter.
