Arguably the best platformer of the last-gen
The character and environment graphics are top notch and memorable. You can see every thread in the mummy's wrappings whichshows the developers' attention to detail. The game seems to have suffered from some budgetary contrains, since there is no voice acting except for a few grunts and gasps. Most of the dialogue is text based and this detracts from the game's greatness. The music soundtrack is great, however and bilds the atmosphere of the levels.
The few things that disappointed me in addition to the lack of speech were the short length of the game -- about 8-10 hours and the final boss was way too easy.
The ending set up perfectly for a sequel, and I hope one is made some day because "Sphinx" is one of those games I wish went on forever. It was totally engrossing fun.
