Spider-Man 2 packs a lot of variety and fun into a very short game.
+The game looks fantastic +Great Boss Battles +Good amount of variety in the levels +Takes the best levels from Spider-Man 1 & 2 for PS2
On the other hand...
-PSP version is short -Camera is sometimes wonky.
I think Activision have given up on Spider-Man on the PSP. The first Spidey game for the system was an original, built from scratch 3D action game. (Spider-Man 2) For Spider-Man 3 & Friend or Foe, they ported over the Wii and PS2 versions of the game. (Which would be okay, but those two were stinkers.) For Web of Shadows, they made a 2D sidescroller that had some laughs, but was overshadowed by the better game play of the DS version. With Shattered Dimensions, it seems like Activision has decided to stop putting out Spider-Man game on the PSP, which is a shame, because Spider-Man 2 for the console shows a lot of potential.
Spider-Man 2 is very similar to Spider-Man's first movie-based game, because it is a linear 3D adventure, instead of an open-world game like the wall-crawlers PS2 and Gamecube adventure. However, Spidey faces villains from both games, including Shocker, the Vulture, and Rhino, to name a few. Spidey, the bosses, and the environments all look amazing on the PSP, and the outdoor levels are particularly stunning. The game also has a variety of missions to complete. Some involve saving hostages, chasing bad guys, shutting down machines, or escaping a bank vault. Repetition is not an issue with this version of Spider-Man 2.
The game's major problem is, in fact, its length. Most people will probably beat the game's twenty levels in about a day. Which is too bad, because this really is a fun game. If you can find it at less than full price (some sell it for less than a dollar on Amazon) I would definitely add it to your collection.
