First impressions are true and this game's first impressions are a bit of a letdown...well extremely letdown!!
Let me explain.
The first action of the game is set in a poorly built level, a burning building where you go through a training scenario.
The graphics would honestly not be far off the ps1's capability which after completing God Of War 2 makes this game's graphics completely rubbish.
I gave it a chance as i knew the outside levels would be better.
Then after the training, the web swinging from skyscrapers.
Wow was the first impression, then after 1minute, the wow factor led to....well....boring and crap!
The gang fights you can target are rubbish as, with a mention of sound, which at least features the real voice talents of the stars, just made me groan and feel a tad embarrassed.
What i mean by this is the fact your fighting (with poor action to be honest) 3 or 4 criminals when all of a sudden Spiderman's voice over kicks in and sounds really terrible with some of the most ridiculous dialogue I've ever witnessed in a game!
The graphics are bland and really, really poor with this game.
The loading times!!! ........ jesus .... if this game was fantastic you could forgive the long loading, but the game seems to load at every giving opportunity which slows the game down AND gives you the fact this is a rushed movie tie-in job!
I've only played about an hour so far and came across the (very laughable and diabolical) Green Goblin fight with Peter Parker holding on for dear life in a very poor graphical mission.
The TERRIBLE dialogue that repeats itself while you do a poor man's rendition of a God Of War style button pressing mini game, three times, to then progress was just laughable.
Honestly, once you have played it you will see what i mean.....just dreadful!!
The gameplay, (which at the moment, i am not holding my breath for anything better happening, in the 2 days I've rented it for) just seems boring and rushed and i cant seem to understand why this game is getting high reviews!!
It really is that bad at times. So bad in fact that even when you complete certain areas of the game, and the god awful dialogue kicks in, you dont even get to listen to the full dialogue due to the fact the long loading screen kicks in AGAIN! Theres so much wrong with this game, it would need a full novel to write it all down, but please, before wasting your hard earned money on this very, very, VERY poor game which i can honestly say is meant for 7 year old kids......just rent it first so you can then curse the fact you've spent your well earned cash, renting a very very VERY POOR GAME!!!!!!
Shame on activision, shame on the cast for lending there voice talents to a pathetic excuse for a game and shame on the fact that the first grand theft auto had better graphics AND better free roaming gameplay then this steaming pile of ****!!!!
