This is a solid Spider-Man game, but is nowhere near as good as SM2 and SM3 Score: 7.1/10

First off, I'm a huge Spider-Man fan. Unfortunately, this game disappointed me. The main character you play as is, well, Spider-Man (aka Peter Parker). The plot starts out weirdly for those who've seen the movie, and it doesn't really show a whole lot of the relationship between Peter and his uncle. It does show some character development, but I didn't like it all that much. Visually the game looks good, since the buildings are detailed and the Spider-Man character model looks good. The enemies don't look that great, and there isn't much variety. The voice acting is great along with the overall sound in the game. However, the gameplay is where this game needs work in. You play as Spider-Man, swinging around in an open-ended environment. The swinging mechanics don't feel that great; you don't actually swing very fast, and you don't turn all that quickly. Combat is pretty much like a button-masher, as you're constantly hammering down on the two different attack buttons. Mission designs are pretty basic--beat up everyone in sight, go to the next room, beat everyone up in there, and so on. The game does have some bad parts to it, but overall it's enjoyable, but if you've played the recent Spider-Man games, this will disappoint you.
