"Alright freak! It's time for you to learn a lesson and the Shocker's school of hard knocks is now open!"
Speaking of the story, it only deviates from the first film with the inclusion of other widely known supervillians from the Spider-Man series. Playing as Green Goblin also changes the nature of story slightly (so it isn't just a cosmectic change). The game doesn't really add anything to the film's main story and even butchers it a bit. The thing that I did enjoy the most about the game however, were the hilarious quotes uttered by the bosses and common enemies fought (especially Shocker and his henchmen)..."Don't mess with the best"..."I've got your back"..."ahhhh"...LOL!
My Breakdown:
What's Good:
- Consistant with the film
- Green Goblin is unlockable and has a slightly different story
- Including a few extra villian was a nic touch
- Good visuals for its time
- Hilarious enemy quotes
What's Not-So-Good:
- Playing as Green Goblin severly breaks the game's difficulty
- The game hardly adds any extra spin on the film's original story
What's Bad:
- Frustrating difficulty (as Spider-Man)
- Terrible camera (especially in the air)
- Low replay value
In all, Spider-Man the Movie game isn't bad but even for the most hardcore Spidey fans, its missable.
