Go ahead, squish it...

What's with these Marvel superhero video games, anyway?

Playing the game for the first few minutes was a bit nostalgic -- it brought back memories of good ol' webhead in the classic Gameboy. However, I'm just NOT in the mood for nostalgia! Last time I looked, I was holding a PSP. The only "improvement" here is the game is in color and it's in a 2.5-D environment (makes you think Activision/Treyarch couldn't decide between a 2-D or a 3-D game, so they just made a compromise). A side-scroller Spidey at this time and age?! What would Stan Lee think?

The big question is, why didn't they do an exact port of the PS3/Xbox 360 versions (at least per the preview, the game seems polished) for the PSP? Haven't the game developers seen a copy of God of War or the GTA series for the PSP where the protagonists can interact in full 3-D glory?! What's worse is even the Spider-man game for the PSX, which came in years back, is way better than this.

One thing's for sure: You don't need to have a spider sense to tell you this game is lame.

Web of Shadows? Should've called it "Web of Deceit..."
