I can't be serious, right? Well I am - I so like this game and I can explain why :) (review of Windows Vista edit
I got hooked on this game when I noticed that a lot of my coworkers were playing this exact game and some of them being absolute gurus of SSolitaire - playing on highest difficulty on Win-XP (which means only occasional wins with very long matches of careful playing)
If you played this game before Win-Vista you know that while it can be fun and logical it always was a matter of luck to actually win in it, because the all-important "undo" function worked only to a limited extent forcing you into inevitable dead ends. BUT! one of the few actual improvements Vista brought to our PCs is the unlimited "undo" that changes everything!
Unlimited "undos" proved that in fact in 99.99% intermediate difficulty Spider Solitaire matches there is a solution. I do not like highest difficulty, but my current saved statistics proves my point:
Intermediate difficulty
Games played - 153
Games won - 150
Win percentage - 98%
I haven't lost a single game in more than 100 games (3 losses are because of closing the game before winning or another mistake).
So here are my 3 reasons why Spider Solitaire on Win-Vista is great and worth mastering:
* It teaches you to never give up!!! I have been playing a lot of matches when everything seems totally impossible, I had to undo to the very beginning several times, all hopes down, but you have to believe in it, and there always was a way out! When you find such solution to seemingly impossible situation it is not only very very satisfying, but it teaches you to always look and try even when all your hopes are gone :)
* It teaches you to think and analyze the game before you make a move - experienced players don't rush removing full decks, it's about doing it in the most efficient way with minimum moves!
* it's a game to play when you are very tired, because it doesn't have any timers - you can play as slowly as you want, even hibernate and turn the computer back on in the middle of the game.
