Gamespot Review Team fail hard, again. Splatterhouse is a great new generation game based on a old school game.
First let me say that Splatterhouse is a old school beat'em up game released in 1988 for Arcade. It was good game back there and if i remember correctly I'm not surprised that gamespot gave such a poor score to a game that really should've got at least a 6.0 + score easily. Gamespot review team is not the same as used to be back in the days..... Well enough about it....

Anyway Splatterhouse is a great start for this serie on new generation consoles and should've got more attention. Let's start this game score in my opinion. :
Graphics - They are well made and good for the new gen , some people may think it's kind like cel-shadded , but it's not. This game graphics are 100% 3D with some art touch effect. However... you can see some glitches in certain moments. 7.5/10
Sound - In my opinion , the worst thing in this new gen splatterhouse is sound effects at all , no doubt. The dialogues are ok, but sound effects a let down.
Dialogues on CG's and conversations are fine , but for example when you pick a weapon you char says always the same thing, it gets very annoying at late game when you already heard it like 500+ times. About game music... its not good, but its no bad either. => 4/10
Gameplay - Super fun to play , extremely gore , upgrade you character is rewarding , some cool boss fights , fun reflex button smash moments....
In my opinion the best on this game is gameplay for sure. 9.5/10
Game story - I must give this game a good score on story because the old splatterhouse games despite being fun , they had no real story. New gen splatterhouse besides have a story , its a good one (sorry cant spoil xD).

Game Control - Not much to say about it, it's a good , with a good responsive.
You can throw combos and get new ones with upgrades, but there is nothing innovative about it. => 7/10
Final Score => 8/10
But that's it guys , despite the bad sound and some glitches the game is very good. If your a old school games or a splatterhouse fan, is a must buy. For everyone else, at least give it a rent and you will probably like it.
For the Gamespot review team... hire new people who actually understand how to review a game....
