Underrated!!! Does what it says on the tin.... Unsophisticated and gooey, Awesome!
YES, it's gameplay is shallow, YES, the loading times are awful, YES the sound goes weird every so often and the graphics do jitter and slow down occasionally (nowhere near as bad as some reviews have reported)...
But first and foremost, if you know what you're buying, a fun, horrendously violent update of the old games (which were pretty crap IMHO, sorry....) and a funny OTT tribute to old slasher pics, with some crazy plotting, nice graphics, the voice of WINNIE THE POOH uttering very funny obsceneties and limbs flying everywhere thrown in, I can't see how you'd be dissappointed..
For me the fighting flowed smoothly, there are no frustrating bottleneck moments in the game that cause you to cry out in rage... The splatting, chopping, pounding and ripping are such fun.. Repeatative yes, but so stress relieving..
Bad day at work? Stick this on with a few beers and you'll have a riot. I loved it. The soundtrack is great too, paticularly that ending track.
Just don't show it to any 'grown ups' They won't get it.... (Yup, even when you're in your thirties, parents still shake their head and walk out...) :)
