Great game and great concept but......

User Rating: 8.5 | 'Splosion Man X360
Well this is my first review of a game on gamespot so bare with me people.

The main character which is Splosion Man is a human shape life form made entirely out of "Splosion" which enables him to basically "splode" himself all over the place. Your goal is to escape the lab you were created in (with evil scientist LOL) You can splode 3 continuous times before you must recharge and the developers have made it easy to know how many times you have exploded by your character himself. Your character will get darker with each splode without a recharge and when he is totally black you will be unable to spode any longer without a quick 1 or 2 second landing where you plant your feet. They have added in numerous checkpoints on every level which you will grow to love. The developers added most checkpoints right before a hard section where you will probably have trouble with so its nice of them. One thing unique about this game too is that they have added on "The Way of the Coward" which enables you to skip levels that you have died massive amounts on to go forward with the game. This was added in for casual gamers. To get the achievement for completing the game you will have to finish every level though.

There are 50 levels all together in this game with 3 boss fights added in. The levels are separated into 3 chapters with each chapter having around 15 to 18 levels including the boss fight. When it comes to boss fights Splosion Man delivers on all fronts by giving you memorable bosses and the fight sequences themselves. Once you get to the credits you will be amazed by them since they are very unique and the credits themselves are almost a reason to buy the game. I won't give spoilers LOL

After beating the game the 1st time you will unlock "Hardcore" mode. Hardcore mode is just like the single player but you get no Checkpoints on the levels and one hit from anything on the map will kill you. Its a very hard challenge and unlocks the "All Hail The Splode King" achievement for you to show off your splodness to your friends. (I have this achevement, great feeling actually)

Splosion Man is also the first game to offer avatar clothes as unlockables. Though the patch for the game has not been released yet as of this writing they assure us its coming. There is also a Premium Theme and 2 Gamer Pics for unlocking on this game.

Now on to the bad part which is the multiplayer. Splosion Man offers another 50 different levels for co-op multiplayer Locally or over Xbox Live. Ever since its release the game has had a "syncing" problem online which makes most levels unplayable. You can play one or two levels usually without a problem till you start to die a lot. You will get up to 30 seconds of lag time on some levels which is horrible and is unplayable. The only way to complete the co-op levels is by doing it Locally which for most of us is impossible. I do hope that the reason the patch has been delayed for the avatar clothes is to resolve this problem. I think that most people who complain about Splosion Man do it cause of this lag problem in the game.

Over all I will give it a 8.5 for effort and awesomeness of the storyline even with the co-op lagging and broken. I do hope everyone downloads this game for a try since you would be missing out on a unique experience. Thanks for taking the time to read my first review
